Birthday Ceilidh

Kevin. We thouroughly enjoyed the evening. We really liked the mix of music you played - Great traditional music and the mix of instruments made for a fantastic sound on the night. Also your effective coaching powers for getting people on the floor and getting the dances going worked wonders! People were truelly impressed and have all been asking who you were. I will definately be keeping Cabrach in mind for any future events.

You were just magnificent, and we all had a fantastic time! I've had lots of really positive feedback from people and everyone loved hearing and dancing to new tunes rather than the same old sets that you hear all the time. Our local piper particularly enjoyed hearing the Gordon Duncan tunes. Another comment I heard - which I think you'll particularly like - came from one of our friends who said that you're "as good to listen to as you are to dance too". I couldn't agree more, and I really don't care how many bars you play for the Strip the Willow!

Retirement Ceilidh - Ellon

Thank you so much for entertaining us on Friday night. We had a ball. Everyone had a great time and we raised the amazing sum of £500 to give to the special nursery at Raeden. The music and the dance calling just gave everyone the encouragement to join in. Not that much encouragement was needed. The dance floor was packed from start to finish. Would love to hear you play again sometime.

“Cabrach really added to the special celebrations for our daughter’s 21^st birthday.  The dances were well chosen making sure the old favourites were included and some less common dances which meant everyone learnt something new.  Their musicianship was excellent and their enthusiasm infectious which encouraged everyone to get up to dance.  They carefully called the steps and patiently repeated themselves to make sure we could actually make it to the end of a dance!  All our guests had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we highly recommend Cabrach for a traditional and very energetic Scottish party!”

I would like to thank Cabrach for making Irene's retirement ceilidh such a great success on Friday night. During the organising of the evening, many of the people up dancing and obviously having a great time had previously told me that they didn't like ceilidhs, however eveyone was clearly converted on Friday night! I look forward to ceilidhing with Cabrach again.

We first heard Cabrach at our friends wedding and were immediately taken with them. When they played for our wedding ceilidh in October they exceeded all our expectations. We had a mix of a 'lively' crowd who have been to many ceilidhs, friends from overseas and those more suited to the sedate. Everyone, without exception, had a great time. Kevin and his friends played a huge first set, then helped everyone work off the stovies. It was accomplished, energetic, well called and all-in-all excellent value for money. I would recommend Cabrach without hesitation. (and no, I'm not affiliated to the band and haven't been paid to say nice things, they really are very good!)Thanks a million, it was great.

We as a committee and as a department would like to thank all the members of Cabrach for a wonderful night. Having been involved in organising the ball they made my life very easy by taking care of all the details, all the dances were organised and called so that everyone knew exactly what to do, and the music was perfect all night. It was a wonderful night and the perfect send off for all of us who have spent the last 4 years at university together.

I have now had about 20 emails and text messages (including a tearful one from the bride!) saying how wonderful the band was ... would that have been you guys by any chance!) Dave and I, Fiona and John and particularly Jonathan and Selina want to thank you so much for making us all dance our socks off and have such a wonderful time. Your name has gone far and wide in the highlands and I have a feeling you could be pretty busy. (You need a bigger floor though!) We will get video for you. A band can make or break a gathering and you certainly contributed to our family and friends having an absolute ball ... thank you so much.

Thank you again for Friday - it was absolutely superb!! What a night. Perfect way to celebrate Hector's career. The music and atmosphere were great. Cabrach were fantastic - the floor was filled all night with people from all nations dancing and having a wonderful time.
